Basauri is a town and municipality located in the comarca of Gran Bilbao, in the province of Vizcaya, in the Basque Country, Spain. It is part of the metropolitan area of Bilbao and is located about 6 kilometres from the centre of Bilbao.

Basauri is known for its long industrial tradition, as in the past it was an important mining and iron and steel area. Nowadays, although it still maintains some industrial activity, the town has evolved towards a more diversified economy and has a large number of services and shops.
Among the places of tourist interest in Basauri are the church of San Pedro, the Casa Torre de Ariz, the Plaza Arizgoiti, the Plaza San Fausto, and the Social Antzokia Theatre. It is also interesting to mention that Basauri has a metro station that connects with Bilbao and other nearby municipalities, making it easily accessible for tourists who want to visit the area.
